Simply take a penny and hold it by the bottom with Abe’s head pointed up. Then stick Abe’s head down into the tread of your tire. If ANY of Abe’s head is obscured by the tread wall, then you’ve got enough tread on your tires. If none of Abe’s head disappears, it’s time to start pricing new tires.
